Incisions with Breast Enhancement Surgery

When you opt for breast enhancement Los Angeles surgery, you will need to make several decisions. For example, you will need to find a surgeon for your  Los Angeles breast enhancement procedure, and you will need to decide on your implant type as well as the type of Los Angeles breast enhancement procedure you will want. You may also be asked to decide on the type of incision you want. You can have your Los Angeles breast enhancement done with a few different types of incisions:

1) Inframammary. This incision is the most common because it is placed below the breast and is therefore not very visible, even though it can leave larger scars. As well, this type of incision allows the surgeon to enjoy more precision when placing an implant.

2) Periareolar. This incision is placed along the border of your areola. If you have light areolas, this incision will leave a much less noticeable scar that incisions made with the Inframammary method. You may not want a Periareolar incision if you may want to breast feed some day.

3) Transaxillary. This incision is placed in the underarm area. This incision leaves no scars on the breast but requires a very skilled surgeon to prevent asymmetrical implants.

4) Transumbilical or Transabdominoplasty. Sometimes called TUBA or TABA incisions, these incisions are placed near the navel. These types of incision are rarely used with Los Angeles breast enhancement procedures.
