Tips After your Beverly Hills Tummy Tuck

Recovering from your Beverly Hills abdominoplasty procedure or tummy tuck can take anywhere from two to six weeks. There are several things you can do to make the process smoother:

1) Prepare yourself for some numbness. During a Beverly Hills abdominoplasty, some nerves in the skin may be damaged or removed, which can result in temporary or even permanent numbness in the area.

2) Guard against infection. After your Beverly Hills tummy tuck, you will be given a full course of antibiotics to help combat infection. Take the antibiotics exactly as prescribed and for the full treatment. Also, check your temperature regularly and check the surgical site for excessive redness, swelling, and pain. If you notice any signs of infection, contact your surgeon at once.

3)  Avoid showers in the first few days after your Beverly Hills abdominoplasty surgery. Showers can mean infection when water and bath products hit the incision area before it has had time to heal. Ask your surgeon – you may be told to take sponge baths instead.

4) Avoid a sedentary lifestyle or too much exercise after your Beverly Hills tummy tuck. You will need to avoid exercise for three or four weeks after your Beverly Hills abdominoplasty. However, sitting around can cause swelling and even blood clots. Talk to your surgeon – he or she may recommend frequent walking after your tummy tuck.
